Ranking marks 18th year Thunderbird has been named the leader in global business education

Thunderbird School of Global Management has again been ranked as the No. 1 school for International Business by U.S. News & World Report. This is the 18th consecutive year Thunderbird has earned this distinction, and it marks the school’s second No. 1 ranking in International Business by top business publications in the past four months.

In December, Thunderbird was ranked No. 1 for International Business by Bloomberg Businessweek in its 2012 ranking of full-time MBA programs.

“The DNA of Thunderbird is distinct; its ethos is unique. Anyone who has come to know Thunderbird students, faculty or alumni understands why we are consistently ranked No. 1 in International Business,” said Thunderbird President Larry Edward Penley, Ph.D. “Our students represent the world’s diversity of language and culture. Our faculty members, on average, speak three languages; most have lived and worked outside their country of birth. And the alumni network, spread across 147 nations worldwide, is the strongest of any school I know.”

The International specialty ranking was determined by a survey of business school deans and program directors, who nominated the top 10 programs for excellence in each specialty area.

The top 5 schools in the International category are:

1. Thunderbird School of Global Management (AZ)

2. University of Pennsylvania (Wharton)

3. University of South Carolina (Moore)

4. University of Michigan–Ann Arbor (Ross)

5. New York University (Stern)

Thunderbird, which has specialized in global business education for nearly 70 years, offers a wide range of degree and non-degree programs for full-time students and working professionals, including a Full-time MBA that was recently revised and is set to launch this fall. The new MBA can be completed in one year and infuses an innovative, cutting-edge delivery and more affordable pricing into this long-standing global offering.
