Thunderbird professor to facilitate roundtable on CFO's and moving forward after the recession

March 15, 2010

Thunderbird School of Global Management Professor Robert Hisrich will facilitate a CFO Alliance Breakfast Roundtable “The CFO’s Role in Driving Top-line Revenue Growth in 2010” at 7:30 AM, Thursday, March 25 at The Biltmore Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Ariz. The event is open to the media.

The interactive discussion specifically tailored for the Chief Financial Officer will cover how to drive top-line revenue growth in a cost-cutting economy.

“We are cognizant that there is still only a trickle of indicators that the economy is improving,” said Nick Araco, CEO and cofounder of the CFO Alliance. “We’ve talked about where we are, and what we did to get there, as CFO’s; now we can talk about how we’re going to move forward.”

Established in September 2007 to demonstrate advocacy and promote connectivity among financial executives, The CFO Alliance is an exclusive peer group created by and designed for senior-level accounting and finance leaders. Based on the success of the original Philadelphia chapter, The CFOA has launched a national expansion, with a current presence in eight U.S. cities (New York, Boston, Washington, DC, New Jersey, Connecticut, Charlotte, Phoenix and Philadelphia) and plans for four more by mid-2010.

Hisrich is the Garvin Professor of Global Entrepreneurship and Director of the Walker Center for Global Entrepreneurship at Thunderbird. A world-renowned expert and author on entrepreneurship, he is a global entrepreneur who has been involved in the founding of more than a dozen companies including H&B Associates, a marketing and management consulting firm. Hisrich was a Fulbright Professor at the International Management Center in Budapest, Hungary and was named a professor in Budapest at the Foundation for Small Enterprise Economic Development, where he also held the Alexander Hamilton Chair in Entrepreneurship.

Hisrich received his BA from DePauw University, his MBA and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Cincinnati, and honorary doctorate degrees from Chuvash State University (Russia) and the University of Miskolc (Hungary).
